Point of Interest Search

At "Find a Point of Interest" you can select from a list of points of interest within Illinois and view the results on the map.  Point of Interest categories and sub-categories are:

• Family, Health and Safety

• Hospital

• Education & Career Development

• Higher Education

• School

• Library

• Travel & Recreation

• Airport

• Convention/Exhibition Center

• Gas Station

• Hotel

• Museum

• Rest Area

• Restaurant

• Tourist Attraction

• Illinois Government

• Agencies

• City Hall

• Court House

• Police Station
  
   

1. To select and map a Point of Interest, select within a city, a category and type from the drop down boxes.
   
   
    

2. A list of possible candidates will be returned.  Select the item from the list and click the "Map It" in the table.
   
   
   
    

3. From the map page, layers can be turned on and off and the Map Tools can be used to navigate within the map.  The symbol represents the location of the point of interest.
